Let me introduce myself….

Hello I’m Amy Peacock and I am a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist. I graduated from the University of Essex in 2018 with a first class degree in Occupational Therapy.

Since graduating I have gained skills in various inpatient and community NHS settings from care of the elderly, dementia care, crisis care, trauma and orthopaedic rehabilitation and stroke rehabilitation. I moved to Scotland in 2022 and have worked primarily for Falkirk Council’s Occupational Therapy Service assessing and advising on care packages and major adaptations such as wet floor showers, wheelchair ramps and stairlifts. I also have experience of supporting people and their families requiring palliative and end of life care.

I’m passionate about supporting people to improve their quality of life, independence and wellbeing through skilled and individualised Occupational Therapy. My favourite aspect of Occupational Therapy is working directly with people and families, allowing the time and focus to understand their difficulties and developing individualised solutions. By tailoring therapeutic activity to align with peoples values and interests, Occupational Therapy can enable people to flourish and find a way back to themselves.

Because of my love for direct patient care and continued professional development I decided to expand my scope of practice by undertaking a Level 4 Diploma in Foot Health. This course was delivered and accredited by the College of Foot Health in Southport (a sister organisation of the Institute of Podiatrists.) This enables me to provide routine foot health treatments such as callus and verruca debridement, corn removal and toenail treatments.

I am insured and registered to practice through the Royal College of Occupational Therapy and the College of Foot Health.

“Working alongside Amy in the NHS setting was excellent. We have worked with a variety of patients with multiple conditions (frailty and falls and common infections, orthopaedic issues, functional health issues) requiring both great skill and understanding all of which Amy possesses. Not only is Amy an excellent OT with a wide base of knowledge she is able to build a great rapport with patients and families and she is a very good friend / work colleague and listener. She is resilient and a hard worker and has shown great adaptability in her career so far! Her adventure into foot health fits neatly alongside her OT values and her ability to make a bad / difficult situation a better one! ”.
